Growing

Passed out in the car on our way back from the grocery store. She rode all the way home like this.
Sophie loved to cuddle with us when she was sick. Poor baby.

She loves dogs! Especially Marley. :)

Sophie has 4 teeth now, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. She is all over the place; under my feet, pulling herself up to stand on anything and everything she can, and putting everything in her mouth. She is also learning to self feed. She loves puffs and crunchies! She is such a water baby. She loves the pool and virtually undresses herself when she hears the bath water running. She is so fun to be around, always laughing and "talking." She is still mostly saying 'dada' and others words with 'd' sounds, like dog whenever she sees Dixie. She waves at everyone and whenever I pretend to be sleeping, she sticks her hands in my mouth! haha
She had her first real illness about 3 weeks ago. She had a fever, cough, cold, ear infections and pink eye. It was pretty yucky. She wanted to cuddle a lot and had a hard time sleeping. She would only fall asleep in our bed. Poor thing.

TOOTH!

Sophie got her first tooth last week, in the middle on the bottom. She is also "scooting" around, not quite crawling, but just about. She also says "Da Da" all of the time. On Memorial Day, she took her first ride on Po Po's boat! She was asleep within the first 5 minutes. It was adorable. The life jacket was not very flattering with her chubby cheeks but it was so cute. Sophie still loves baths and has been tasting some real food including mashed potatoes, powedered donuts (from MiMi WITHOUT my permission) and real bananas! She goes to a babysitter 2.5 days a week and she really seems to enjoy it. She is the only girl so she runs the show. She always smiles at Ms. Dorothy and the little boys when I drop her off in the morning. She is growing so fast; reaching new milestones everyday. She is 8.5 months old! I cannot believe it. It is almost time to start planning her 1st birthday party...

6 months

Sophie is 6 months old today. She is so funny these days. She laughs out loud at virtually anything. She rolls over like crazy and she will chew on anything!! Dixie really grabs her attention and she will smile from ear to ear at her. Kiddy...not so much...haha! She still swings, but not as much and not for as long. She loves playing on her back or belly and also bouncing of course. She is getting a lot better at sitting up by herself but she isn't there yet. She is eating 2nd foods now, which she loves so much more. Oh, and she is getting her ears pierced tomorrow. :-)

Above are some pictures and here is a video of her cracking up at her silly Daddy.

Bouncer!!!

This picture is of Sophie on her first Valentine's Day...5 months old :-)

Her favorite foods are probably bananas and sweet potatoes but carrots and applesauce and pears are a close second. She does not care for peas and we won't even attempt prunes!!

The camera loves her...just like we do!

Her new favorite place to be!

Sophie's legs are finally long enough for her to bounce on her own! She goes crazy...It is so adorable. :-) She is 5 months now....And will be getting her ears pierced at her 6 month appointment. Oh, and she loves looking at ceiling fans too. She can finally sit in her highchair..it is precious. She has almost grown out of her swing, which is a shame, because she still loves it so much. Her favortie movie is Baby Mozart and she is stuck to the TV when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on..Oh toooottttleess!!! She has been bowling a lot lately..she loves watching her Daddy and Po-Po!! Even though they are not that good. She is growing more and more everyday. Oh, and she rolled over all by herself, in front of me, on Tuesday!! (2/17)

4 MONTHS OLD!

I love this month. Sophie has already had so many "firsts." She is eating applesauce, bananas, carrots, and sweet potatoes now. (All organic) She LOVES it, especially the carrots, which is quite surprising. She smiles all of the time and she "talks" too. It is basically just a bunch of noise but it is the best noise ever. Her Daddy works with her everyday to roll on her belly. She did it ONCE all by herself. She is also holding her head up so good and for much longer than usual...and she has a big head, so that says a lot! Oh, she also snores! lol But she sleeps so great...10 hours on average at night...YAY!! These days are so packed with new and exciting developments and I wish I could remember them all. I am really trying to! Oh, and another thing...Sophie discovered her tongue. I will catch her just sticking it out sometimes...it is soooooo funny! How did I get so lucky?

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!

Christmas is so much more fun with Sophie in my life!
I love singing to her and showing her the lights on the tree. Oh, and dressing her in her Christmas outfits. Just this week, we were in Bedford baking Christmas cookies with Mimi, Grandma, Grammy, and Great Aunt Dot. Sophie is sooooo big! At her 2 month appointment, she weighed 13 pounds 6 ounces!! (That was a MONTH ago!!) And tomorrow, she will be celebrating her 3 month "birthday." She can drink juice now and she LOVES it. All of the new flavors are apparently very yummy to her.

She is going to see Santa on Saturday and she will be baptised on Sunday. We have a couple of very busy weeks coming up and I am so excited for every second of it. As busy and exhasuting as parenting is, the good definitely outweighs the bad. I love my precious baby girl!!!
